Materials & Care
What your jewelry is made of, and the simple habits that keep it looking new for years.
Solid gold
We work in solid 14K and 18K gold, so your piece won’t flake, fade or wear through like plated jewelry can.
14K gold is 58.3% pure gold and is the most durable choice for everyday rings. 18K gold is 75% pure gold, with a richer color and a slightly softer feel.
| Gold color | What gives it its color | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Pure gold with silver and copper | The classic warm tone; easy to polish |
| White | Gold with white metals, finished in rhodium | May need re-plating every 1–2 years to stay bright |
| Rose | Gold with a higher share of copper | Very durable; the pink tone deepens slightly over time |
Platinum
Naturally white, dense and hypoallergenic, platinum is a favorite for engagement rings. Over time it develops a soft satin finish called a patina, which can be polished back to a high shine anytime.
Diamonds
We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds. They are chemically and physically identical and equally durable. Center diamonds come with an independent grading report covering the 4Cs: cut, color, clarity and carat weight.
How to clean at home
- Soak your piece in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 10–15 minutes.
- Gently brush behind the stones with a soft toothbrush, where lotion and dust collect.
- Rinse under warm water (close the drain first) and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Skip toothpaste, bleach and abrasive cleaners; they can scratch metal and dull stones.
Everyday habits
- Put jewelry on last, after lotion, perfume and hairspray.
- Take it off for the gym, swimming, hot tubs, cleaning and gardening.
- Store pieces separately in soft pouches or a lined box so diamonds don’t scratch other jewelry.
- Have prongs and settings checked by a jeweler about once a year.
